Taking a first step, waving “bye-bye” and pointing to something interesting are all developmental milestones, or things most children can do by a certain age. Children reach many milestones in how they plan, learn, speak, act and move.

WHEN: From one month to 5 years of age
WHY: To better understand your child’s development, to celebrate their accomplishments and to identify developmental areas where he/she might benefit from additional support or resources.

Want to know more about how your child learns, plays and grows? Want to identify your child’s strengths and areas where he or she may need encouragement or support? A developmental screening is a playful and fun way to assess your child’s development in your own home.
Pediatricians recommend that all children be screened at least three times prior to their fifth birthday. Research shows fewer than 1 in 3 children receive a timely developmental screening.
You can complete the confidential two-part questionnaire in about 20 minutes, and will help you to know if your child is reaching key milestones in the following developmental areas:
- Gross Motor
- Fine Motor
- Problem Solving
- Personal Social
